The founder president, Dr. Tulasamma's eightieth birthday - 31/Dec/2014

The children from the home participated in a variety of games, enjoyed a magic show, and relished a birthday lunch at Dr. Tulasamma's residential complex. Dr. Tulasamma was relieved from active duties at the home on this occasion. She continues her affiliation with the trust as a permanent advisor.

150^th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, 12-Jan-2013

The members of VVVK Trust and Vandemataram Foundation, invited the local residents, and celebrated the 150^th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Raghunayakananda from the Ramakrishna Math graced the function as the chief guest. On this occasion Dr. S. L. Tulasamma extended financial support in the amount of Rupees One Lakh to three organisations:

Home for the blind run by Mr. Subhash Gupta where the education of college girls is funded
PSS Trust where girls of lower economic strata are assisted in pursuing polytechnic courses
HRDS (Human Resource Development Society) to which:
- A computer station was donated to physically challenged students and
- Destitute girls are assisted in undergoing vocational training
